The holdings of all Wake Tech Libraries may be accessed using iLink, our online catalog, on the library's main Web page. iLink lists titles at Wake Technical Community College and other libraries in the Consortium of Community College Libraries in North Carolina (CCLINC). Items can be searched by title, author, subject, series, or by simply searching everything.
You may place a hold on an item that is checked out and request items held in other libraries in the consortium through the interlibrary loan request feature. For step-by-step instructions on how to place a hold, see the Interlibrary Loan section of the Borrowing Guidelines page.
To access your personal library account from within iLink:
- Select
from the menu options. - On the "My Account" page, select the "Review My Account" link.
- For your user ID, enter the barcode number on your library card. Your default PIN is "1234" until you log into your account and change it. Enter these 4 digits in the box that asks for a PIN.
- Then click
.
The display will list the items you have checked out, any bills (overdue items and charges), and any holds you have placed on items.
To request a library card, please complete the library card application [online form is currently being revised] and indicate in the notes section that you are a Wake Tech student enrolled in a distance education course. After verification of your distance education status, a library card will be mailed to the address provided.
If the Wake Tech libraries do not have an item you require, interlibrary loan service is available. Books and other materials from libraries in the North Carolina Community College system may be requested via our online catalog. The Interlibrary Loan section under Borrowing Guidelines offers step-by-step instructions on how to request an item from another library.
Distance education instructors can place articles or samples from books on the electronic reserves section of the library site. (The use of Blackboard is encouraged for the distribution of class notes or handouts.)
Enrolled students need to contact their instructor for a username and password before they will have access to electronic reserves documents. See the Reserves section of the site for further information.
View our listing of electronic databases. Students, faculty, and staff at Wake Tech can request the remote usernames and passwords by contacting any of the four campus libraries.
