Return to Library Instruction Home

Please read before completing the form:

To best utilize the college’s resources, the preferred location for library instruction sessions will be SMART classrooms . By conducting library sessions in these classrooms, it has been shown that students are better focused and are able to apply the information literacy skills learned to future research projects. So, if your class is located in a SMART classroom, the librarian will come to you to conduct the library instruction session.

However, if you are not located in a SMART classroom, you will have the option to schedule your library instruction session in a SMART classroom or computer lab on campus, or in the library. All library instruction sessions should be requested at least ONE WEEK in advance.

There will be only ONE class scheduled in the library at any given time. Please check the online schedule for confirmed classes accessible via Groupwise Calendar (proxy to by adding Reference, Wake.)

POLICIES:

Wake Tech libraries would like the instructor (or a colleague) to accompany the class for scheduled library instruction sessions.

If an instructor has the students working on a specific assignment, please provide a copy of the assignment to the librarian assigned to the class (preferable via email prior to the date of instruction).

The library session is NOT scheduled, until the instructor receives an appointment confirmation (via email) from the librarian assigned to the class. If your assigned classroom is NOT a SMART Classroom, you can make reservations to have a library instruction session in one of the on-campus SMART Classroom or Computer Lab.
